Have you ever wished for just one thing you could count on to stay the same no matter what?
In our world today, not much is certain. No doubt you have experienced betrayal in both big and small ways throughout your life. Politicians are notorious for this. They make promises and many people rely on them to make a change. Later, their loyal followers are almost always disappointed. Maybe you’ve had a friend or even family member betray you. The one person you thought you could trust most in life. Relationships, even close ones, can sadly prove untrue.
So, who can we trust? What can we rely on in times of need, especially in the turmoil of recent years? Are you constantly teetering on a shaking foundation? We at the Church of God are happy to offer you one thing that won’t let you down: Christ and His truth. While many have turned their back on Him, He has always been faithful. He has kept every promise, fulfilled every prophecy, and been the Head of his Church since He first established it.
While some refer to us as old-fashioned, we hold to what we know to be true. Jeremiah 6:16 reminds us “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”
It’s no wonder that some have trouble trusting in God, when their trust in almost everything else has been disappointed. But this truth, and this Church, can be trusted. It is solid and steady, and even times like these cannot shake it.
In this issue, we’ll explain just what gives us this strong confidence as Christians – why we can be loyal to the cause, not quickly losing enthusiasm for serving Him. Most importantly, how steady and unchanging the truth of His Word is. It truly is something you can rely on.
