America has faced many different pivotal times throughout our history. Wars have been fought, natural disasters have occurred, and even previous elections have brought us to a crossroads.
Now is one of those times, and some have even said it is the most important election in our lifetimes.
But where do God’s people stand? Many political supporters are very passionate about their beliefs, some even in a hostile way. An uproar is caused over candidates who will no doubt go back on many of their promises.
At the Church of God at Connoquenessing, we support a much greater cause, one that is far more worthy of our passion.
The cause of Christ gives us hope for the future no matter what the result on election day. Some believe that in the event of a certain outcome, all hope will be lost. But they forget Who is really in charge.
So while we are at a polarizing moment in history, faith and prayer can bring hope. As Christians, we should take our stand in a civil way, but we should not let this season shatter us to pieces.
Psalm 118:8 reads, simply: “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
One thing we know for sure is that our light will shine brighter and brighter as the world gets more evil.
So join us as we fight for His cause. Within these pages, you’ll find a tribute to our fallen heroes, ideas for a Christian approach to the polls, and the only thing America truly needs, more than it does any certain presidential candidate.
What will you fight for?
