Mission
To express our love and adoration to God through dance transcending multicultural and denominational barriers, cultivating an atmosphere that will bring deliverance and change into the lives of those who are in need.
Purpose
To demonstrate praise, worship, and adoration to God through dance that will stir up and ignite the people of God, unite the congregation in praise and thanksgiving, and cause the Shekinah Glory of God to be present with us.
Dancing to praise GOD is not a new concept, nor was the concept invented by the world. On the contrary, dance was designed by God for the purpose of pleasing, praising and worshipping him. Like Miriam danced before the Lord to rejoice over Israel’s triumph over Egypt (Ex. 15:20-21) or David danced before the Lord to celebrate the return of the Ark of Covenant(2 Sam. 6:14) or Judah danced and praised the Lord before battle and God set ambushes for their enemies (2 Chron. 20:21-22), dance done with the right motives pleases God and can move Him to do miraculous things.
As people who are called to dance, it is our responsibility to dance with pure motives and offer up a sacrifice of dance that will invoke the presence of God that miracles, signs, and wonders might appear in our midst. Our dance should have a lasting effect on the environment and atmosphere.
The guidelines and rules in this manual, when followed, will help Heavenly Expressions to function as a cohesive unit. This will allow us to be on one accord so that we offer an acceptable presentation of dance to God that will cause him to be pleased and give him the atmosphere and environment needed for him to do what he wants to do.
Primary Goals
Praise GOD
It is our job as ministers of dance to praise GOD with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Our first ministry is unto GOD and not man. It is to thank the LORD for all He has done for us and to offer up our praise (dancing) as gratitude to Him.
Usher in the Presence of GOD
It is our responsibility to offer an acceptable sacrifice of praise to GOD that pleases Him and brings Him to the forefront of our dance and ministry. As we delight ourselves in the Lord, He will delight in us. This attitude and commitment in our presentation will invite Him into our presence to commune with us.
Change the Atmosphere
Where ever we are called to minister is an assignment of GOD so that He can accomplish a specific goal. As dance ministers, it is our job to discern or identify the type of environment and atmosphere we are in and change it to the atmosphere that will allow GOD to move freely to accomplish His goal. The LORD may want to deliver, heal, save, war, etc. and we go before Him preparing the way.
Show Others How to Praise GOD
As ambassadors and ministers of Christ, we must also be examples to others on how to praise GOD. Our dance must invite those who spectate to participate in the praise and worship experience.
